Work on WP2 – Key Performance Indexes, system and building specifications - is well underway with building typological classification and specific climate considerations. In parallel a generic heating system is being developed with key design/sizing and operational specifications to be met by each component.
The first steps on the way to develop a new SWS (Selective Water Sorbent) sorbent material are also being taken with an analysis on optimal sorvents being conducted. Current activities of WP3 are focussed on the assessment of the main operating conditions to which the sorbent is subjected in different working conditions of heat storage cycles and local climates with input from WP2
At the same time the architecture of the sorption storage system is being studied accounting for compactness, high effectiveness, ease of installation, low maintenance and long lifetime (WP4).
